Reid Wiseman Shares “Earthset” Video from Artemis II, Filmed on an iPhone

Artemis II commander Reid Wiseman shared iPhone footage of “Earthset” — Earth slipping behind the lunar limb — captured from roughly 252,000 miles away as the Orion capsule rounded the Moon’s far side.

The clip, filmed on an iPhone 17 Pro Max, has crossed 7.6 million views, with former astronaut Chris Hadfield calling it the “coolest video ever taken with an iPhone.”

“Only one chance in this lifetime,” Wiseman wrote. “Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos.”

The Artemis II crew splashed down on April 10 after a 10-day mission, the first crewed lunar flyby in over 50 years.
